CLUB MARCONI CELEBRATES A BRIGHT FUTURE
An atmosphere of excitement and a positive outlook for the future was evident recently when the Club Marconi team came together to celebrate the achievements of their peers at the Team Awards Presentation Night.
Throughout the evening, staff honored and congratulated their colleagues as 11 awards were given for individual employees and department excellence, with Lance Pino from Beverage Services taking out the major award for Team Member of the Year 2011. Six team members were also acknowledged for their long service to the club.
“It was rewarding to see the team come together as a strong, supportive unit and enjoy reaping the rewards of their hard work,” said Tony Costain, CEO, Club Marconi.
“There was a definite air of positive belief about the Club’s future, following a couple of very tough years.”
The evening’s atmosphere was further enhanced following news that for financial year ended June 30, 2011 the club returned a trading Net Profit following on from a loss of over $1.3 million profit last year, and is showing a very positive $270,000 trading profit for the first quarter of current 2012 financial year.
“The team now has renewed confidence in the financial stability and management of the club, given that it was only the previous year we suffered a loss in excess of a million dollars, and we have now successfully reversed this position to a cash positive result,” said Mr. Costain.
“Add to this the growing anticipation from staff and members around the mid December re-launch of our signature restaurant, Oscars Trattoria, and there is a lot of be confident and excited about in the coming year.”
